Quaint with a Capital Q

The Marina Motel provides nice rooms that well appointed with a full kitchen and lovely bathroom. Showers are fantastic as are the bathrooms supplies, and the kitchen has enough in it so that you do not need to bring cutlery, plates, or otherwise. The location is prime. It is an easy and pleasant walk to Chrissy Field or to The Presidio, and it is only a three or four block walk to all of the restaurants on Chestnut. While accomodations are fairly simply, the overall air of being transplanted into a European village is accomplished with the beautiful courtyard and all of its fragrant flowers, trees, and plants. Extraordinary calming and pleasant, it is also quite quiet, especially considering Lombard Street is close by, but it is set back enough from the street to be quiet. Pets are allowed, and our Corgi loved the experience. There is even a backyard set up for dogs, complete with pet waste disposal. We were there during Labor Day, so it was exceptionally busy. It was a hot weekend, and the motel has no air conditioning. They did have fans in the room though. Also, parking is a bit tight there, so if you have a larger vehicle, you may not be too happy trying to park it. Lastly, we had a nice view, but some rooms face Lombard Street or a vacant lot, which is not ideal. Also, the immediate two block area is a little more seedier than other parts of Cow Hollow and the Marina with more homeless people (yet you are completely safe). If these kinds of things hurt your fragile sensibilities, then perhaps pass or make sure you have a courtyard room. However, I actually enjoyed this location much more than other spots near the Marina or Cow Hollow. I certainly was spirited away to another quaint space and time. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Easy to find, cute and clean room. We were in a street facing room, street noise did not bother us. The area felt safe. Took an early morning walk to the water..was only a 10 min leisurely walk..so many beautiful things to see. I would recommend.
