Soak Up San Francisco Culture at Union Square & Chinatown

Union Square and Chinatown are two of San Francisco's most famous neighboring districts. A shopper's paradise, Union Square is dotted with major department stores, upscale boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants. This California historical landmark is also home to off-Broadway theaters, Coit Tower, a bustling nightlife, and numerous salons and spas. Visitors can ride a quick cable car North over to Chinatown, where they can dine at some of the city's best restaurants, shop for souvenirs, and hit the markets and bakeries. San Francisco has the largest Chinatown of any major US city. Shop the square, savor California wines, stop in the Tin How Temple, or order the best dim sum in the country at these two famous San Francisco neighborhoods.

FAQs

  • Where can I park in Chinatown?

San Francisco parking can get a bit tedious, but thankfully there is plenty of metered spots and area garages to try. If unsuccessful, there are numerous Park & Ride garages available. For Chinatown, the best option is to park at the Golden Gateway Garage and take a quick shuttle over. It's just $3!
  • Which BART station stops at union square?

Public transportation is a great way to commute to Union Square. Take the BART over to the Powell Street Station, located at Powell and Market Streets for the quickest Square access. From here guests will enjoy instant access to the heart of the square and the many shops that line its streets.
