Stroll Among the Redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument

Admission is $10 a person, ages 16 and up. Children are free. The annual pass is $40 and admits up to three guests.

Hours -

Open 365 days/year from 8 am to sunset. Winter months from 8 am - 5 pm, and Summer months from 8 am - 8 pm. The Visitor Center opens at 9 am.

The forest is open every day, but the best time of day to visit is the early morning during the middle of the week, to experience the natural wonders of the area at their most peaceful. The busiest times seem to be mid-day and weekends, when travelers and tourists from San Francisco come to explore.

How can I get to Muir Woods from San Francisco?

From San Francisco, Muir Woods is located 11 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Take Hwy 101 North to the Mill Valley/Highway 1/ Stinson Beach Exit. Follow the signs to Hwy 1, then exit at Muir Woods. Vehicles over 35 feet long are prohibited and there is no RV parking or cell service.
