Stroll Among the Redwoods at Muir Woods National MonumentWalk among the tallest redwoods and explore this popular forest known around the world. Located in Marin County, just 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods National Monument houses trees over 1,000 years old, as well as wildlife and forest fauna that includes chipmunks, snakes, reptiles, and unique northwest pacific birds. As part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, this lush sanctuary in the San Francisco Bay area is truly a sight of beauty in an already beautiful destination. Visitors can spend a day hiking and exploring the enchanted forest; some choose to even say "I Do" there.
Prices -Admission is $10 a person, ages 16 and up. Children are free. The annual pass is $40 and admits up to three guests.
Hours -Open 365 days/year from 8 am to sunset. Winter months from 8 am - 5 pm, and Summer months from 8 am - 8 pm. The Visitor Center opens at 9 am.
